amycatcharlie asked: I just picked up a used table with chairs for outdoors. I started to stain it, and even after the 8 hours it takes to dry- it’s still sticky?! Am I missing something? Do I need to apply another coat of something else so it won’t be sticky?

Kim asked: i have this wooden antique dresser in my room.
it smells like ‘old’ and i don´t know how to get the smell out.
i don’t like putting stuff in it anymore, because the smell somehow gets onto the stuff too.
i’ve tried leaving the doors open for a couple of days to let some air in, but it only works so much and then a couple of days later the smell is back.
and i don´t want to use any kind of air freshener.
any ideas what i could do?

Autumn asked: I have an old building on my property that I use for storage. I allowed a relative to temporarily store some of his furniture there after a nasty divorce. Two years have passed. I needed the extra storage space, so I phoned my relative and asked him to remove his belongings from my building. He did take them out of the building, but instead of carrying them away, he threw them in the FRONT YARD of my building and left them. Some of this stuff is heavy furniture, and I can not even lift the stuff to move it myself. Can I legally force him to remove his junk from my yard? Any legal recourse?

December asked: We’re downsizing and need to get rid of some furniture and assorted antiques. Has anyone out there had experience dealing with auction houses or estate sale dealers?
Should we send the stuff to an auction house(some of the pieces are large)? Have an on-site auction? Have an estate-type sale? We’re trying to decide which way to go.

It will have a couple glass doors, a drawer, adjustable shelves to hold various media stuff and decorations. It will have castor wheels. The size will be 38″ wide x 76″ high x 22″ deep. My floor is a red cherry color.
1-Which main wood should I use? I like the color of red cherry and mahogany.
2-Which wood should I use for the black trim to get a “black glossy” look on the corners? Or should I use black plastic?

drivedrivedrive asked: I have some antique furniture that needs to be moved from MN to Seattle. There are about 7 pieces including a tall headboard /full size bed, a couple trunks and a couple dressers. Basically a bedroom set + a few other pieces. How can I get them from point A to point B without spending a ton of money? The time it takes to get here isn’t important. Its just that I am in Seattle and my stuff is in MN. My original thought was to fly out and rent a uhaul to drive it back. With the fuel cost skyrocketing, I just don’t have the time or money. The people storing my stuff are kind of at the end of their rope patience wise. HELP!
