what kind of sealant do you use on latex painted furniture?

Best way to refinish painted furniture while living in small apartment?

I have a painted wooden floor cabinet. It desperately needs to be refinished - the white paint is chipping and is very old and dirty. I would love to strip it and repaint it. What it the best way to go about doing this, living in a small apartment. I can’t bring it outside (I live in a high rise, in a big city) I also don’t own any sanders or power tools. And what kind of paint should I use??

Can I varnish over painted furniture surface?

I have some lovely painted antique furniture and I just learned that they might contain lead paint. With a baby coming I want to apply varnish on top of the painted surface. Is it possible? any preparation needed? I can’t sand it because it will cause lead dust. Any varnish product to recommend? What do u think about the Olympic varnish products? Thank you.

I inherited a collection of hand made antique furniture in original paint from my Dad. How should I sell it?

He was an antique dealer in the Maryland/DC area for years, and upon his death I inherited a collection of antique furniture, mostly 150 - 200 years old, all in the original painted finish. Most of the furniture is colorful, and it all looks well-used, but from what I’m told, that fact simply makes this type of furntirue more desireable to collectors.

I’m currently in the midst of what’s going to be an ugly divorce, and I’m having to use all available sources of funds, so it’s time to sell Dad’s stuff.
