msnutmeg asked: have blonde 50’s collection. dining room china cabinet & buffet.want them to be deep rich chocolate brown.Should I paint brown & then stain & coat with clear polyurethan? Was once painted ocre & then stained blonde. Should I use water base paint & can I stain over this? The china cabinet belonged to my grandmother and it took me 4 years to collect the rest of the pieces including a table & 6 chairs and a desk. This is a sentimental thing for me…i would love some help to make everything match & finish all with matching drawer pulls. I just love the deep chocolate brown color with a high gloss finish…any help would be greatly appreciated…I will have access to U.S. products as I am located in the great lakes area …usa. THANKS A BUNCH! FROM A DESPERATE GRAND-DAUGHTER! WHO REALLY DOESN’T WANT TO MESS THIS UP! SMILES

Gypsy Girl asked: I make outdoor wood furniture, and I have heard that there are furniture shows or craft shows where I can sell the furniture. Where can I find these shows?

tlatrice2002 asked: My TV armoire and bookshelf are dark espresso colored wood. I’m thinking about staining the aqaurium stand (it’s a massive piece of furniture that hold a 75 gallon tank!) to make it a darker color to match everything else. Should I do this or should I just leave it alone?

fradykat asked: I purchased a bedroom set for my daughter that is in good shape with the exception of the top of the dresser and nightstand have damage from where cups had been put on them and got the wood wet. It is oak color and I am wanting to know if I can sand it down and then restain it or paint it. It is an eyesore and I am hoping to fix it.

yippie asked: Does anyone have any experience with the durability of their furniture? I have been told their furniture is not wood but cheap particle board covered with a thin fake wood veneer and almost all pieces need to be assembled. Their prices are high for build it yourself though. I do not want to waste my money.

renne asked: My grandmother has a house in the town I live in. Her house has been abandoned for 7-9 years, but she has furniture inside. The family has decided to sell the house and the grandchildren can have the furniture inside of it. I saw some nice antique furniture all wood that I would like to take to my place. However there is a rodent problem in the house because it’s been abandoned for so long. There are spiders, centipedes, and mice. Gross I know…it took me a while to be able to walk through there. Any who, I really love this furniture and I really need furniture. My question is can these rodents lay eggs in wood furniture? I don’t want to take anything but furniture home with me. Also should I place the items outside for a while to air them out? Please help me, I don’t know what I can do to prevent infecting my home….thanks

emmy asked: I know this is a weird question, but does anyone know anything about wood furniture? The knots in my wood furniture in my bedroom has spontaneously got darker just within the past few days. Can furniture get diseased? What would cause this. I am having my bathroom remodeled at the moment. Could this have anything to do with this? Please advise…

~Ang~ asked: We recently lost our home to fire, but it was contained to 3 rooms and we were able to remove many things. The smell of smoke is terrible on most of it. I have an antique sewing machine, among other antiques that have tremendous sentimental value but am clueless as how to remove the smell without causing more damage. I also have leather furniture and many wood pieces. Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Thanks and a very Happy Easter to All… : ) Angie
