Pui Yi H asked: I just bought a couple of natural color rocking chairs. They look like they’ve been stained and not sealed with some protective treatment. What’s the best product to use to protect my rockers from fading in the sun, the rain, and general cracking due to possible weather damaging?

Me asked: I’m thinking about stripping and refinishing my great grandmother’s dining room table and chairs. Does anybody know what kind of cost range and time frame this kind of project usually entails? I’m trying to figure out if this is hundreds of dollars? thousands? days? months? Please share any positive or negative experiences you’ve had with this too- Thanks!
I’m not planning on doing it myself - I would definitely hire someone to do the job. Also, I’m not planning on selling it as an antique, so it’s monetary value is not that important either….

LHandJP asked: My mom picked up a dresser and a chest that are 1950’s and have a blonde finish. She doesn’t like it and wants to refinish it and stain it with a light wood color. She is uncertain if there are any special procedures that need to be taken to refinish it and make it look good.
